#16 "Necessary Balance" by Michelle Levesque

Michelle Chung Levesque is a self-taught fiber and mixed media artist who loves to work with wool, fabric, paper, and metal wire. Though she dabbles in drawing, sewing, and jewelry making, she is perhaps best known for her whimsical and detailed needle felting. Under her Etsy name, Sugar Beet Accessories, Michelle creates 3-dimensional wool sculptures in the form of ornaments, wall art or hanging mobiles. A love for clever repurposing also led to her latest venture as co-owner of Chrysalis, a unique, "up-cycling" shop in North Scituate village. As a lifelong creative and maker of stuff, Levesque has always enjoyed the challenge of making beautiful things from unexpected raw materials and she strives to show this passion in whatever she creates.
