Join Scituate Education Foundation for Seaside Stories, a live event in which “ordinary” people tell extraordinary true tales from their own lives. The performance will feature members of the Scituate community — our friends, neighbors, and local celebrities — telling 5-minute hand-picked and personal tales on the theme of being “Schooled.” Storytellers will hone their stories as part of a 3-part workshop series under the direction of expert and award-winning storytellers, Andrea Lovett and Meghann Perry. Emceed by recent SHS grad and rising star Roger Dawley and featuring special guest story tellers (and Scituate residents) Peter Mehegan, of Chronicle fame, and Michele Lazcano, reporter for Fox 25 News Boston, the event promises to leave audience members feeling inspired, entertained, and hopefully, more connected to one another and the community through the uniquely human art of storytelling.
The Scituate Education Foundation (SEF) is proud to sponsor the third annual Passport Days from September 4-7, 2018. Passport Days is a community wide event the week before the start of preschool. Older siblings and playmates are back in the classroom and we see it as a unique opportunity to celebrate our youngest residents.
The event brings preschool aged children (and younger) together to participate in the community with a special focus on giving back. In addition, Passport Days connects parents and caregivers and provides free or discounted demo classes with area providers. Businesses seeking to participate, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org

In the space where traditions are handed down and memories are made, this unique event is a self-guided tour offering ticket-holders an opportunity to visit an array of beautifully designed kitchens in our seaside community with tastings from area chefs, pop-up boutiques and demonstrations from local artisans.

In celebration of our first grant application period, we held
a late-winter fundraising event in the greenhouses at Kennedy's Country Gardens.
SEF at patriot place
In partnership with 5 Wits at Patriot Place, students and families saw first hand how the concept of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) can be applied in a live-action entertainment venue. 5 Wits generously donated 50% of the ticket proceeds back to SEF on this day.
This free, interactive, community-based program was designed for families and caregivers with young children to enjoy during the days leading up to the start of preschool. It culminated in a playground picnic at the Purple Dinosaur with pizza, popsicles and a raffle drawing!
SEF launch party
A sold-out event at the Scituate Maritime Center in June, 2016, the crowd in the room reflected a diverse cross section of our community united with an appreciation for lifelong learning and a desire to help make Scituate a place known for its creativity, effective problem solving and teamwork.
