James E. Kukstis

James is someone who likes to stay busy, whether in his role as a journalist on the South Shore for Wicked Local or his side pursuits as a baker and sewer. While James has far more experience telling other peoples' stories than his own, he hopes the workshops allow him to separate himself from his personal stories in order to better understand how they are being received. James has been a writer all his life and has a degree in creative nonfiction writing from Trinity College. A lifelong Scituate resident, the powerful storms that batter the coast frequently influence his work both personal and professional. He thinks the greatest stories have relatable emotions and realistic circumstances and it’s the responsibility of the person telling the story to effectively communicate those to the audience.
