What is Seaside Kitchens?
This unique event is a self-guided tour offering ticket holders an opportunity to visit an array of beautifully designed kitchens in our seaside community with tastings from area chefs, pop-up boutiques and demonstrations from local artisans.
Where do the funds raised from Seaside Kitchens go?
All proceeds raised for this event will support the Scituate Education Foundation and its mission to fund educational programs for all ages.
Where will Seaside Kitchens take place?
In and around Scituate.
How much are tickets?
Tickets are $35 per person in advance, online. If there are tickets remaining, we will sell them on the day of the event for $40 (cash or check only).
Do you offer children's tickets?
Sorry, no children under the age of 18 are allowed on the tour.
Where do I pick up my program?
Event programs will be available at the Scituate Harbor Community Building (44 Jericho Rd.) from 11 am until 1 pm. Please bring your printed ticket or a device showing your ticket. Ticket holders will be given a bracelet to wear on the tour.
Should I bring my wallet/purse on the tour?
Some homes will have pop-up boutiques on-site. The event is taking place before the holiday season, so please shop from these talented and local artisans!
Is transportation provided for the Tour?
Ticket holders provide their own transportation; we encourage car-pooling to limit the number of cars parking at each home.
Where do I park?
Each home will have signs and/or volunteers or police details to help guide your parking options.
Can I touch? Can I photograph?
No touching please. And no photography. If you see something that inspires you, it may be listed in the program. There also are experts in each house who will be happy to tell you about how the houses were built, designed and created.
Will I have to remove my shoes?
SEF will provide shoe covers for ticket holders to protect the floors in each home.
What if it rains?
The event will be held rain or shine.
Is there a mandatory order to the tour?
No, you can start at any house and go in any order. People tend to start at the first house listed, and then that house gets backed up. You will probably save time by starting at a different house!
Is the tour handicap accessible?
The tour is not handicap accessible.
I didn’t get through all of the houses! What happens at 4pm?
We’re so sorry for everyone who doesn’t get to enjoy all that the tour has to offer. But this event only works when we keep our promises to the generous homeowners who have trusted us with their homes, including when we promise that the event will be over. Guests will not be admitted into homes after 4pm.
